Martha joined Five Mile River Nursery School in 2008.  She has been teaching for 30 years, having joined the field in the summer after graduating from Denison.

Martha started as an assistant teacher at the Bank Street College Family Center, then in the 3's classroom at the Bank Street School for Children and also as the Head Teacher for the 4's/5's in the Bank Street Summer Camp.  During this same time, she took night courses towards her Master's in Early Childhood Education at Bank Street College of education.  The thrill of Miss Martha's career was having her 88 year old grandmother, founder of the Bank Street School for Children, present her diploma at her Bank Street graduation.
